Café Michelangelo was inspired by brothers Angelo and Michel Disandro.

The restaurant concept was conceived by the two brothers’ desire to share their culinary experiences when they were living in Italy. They set their sites on the little store front (11901 Bustleton Avenue) in northeast Philadelphia on august 20th 1992. As you enter the restaurant you are visually taken by the cappuccino bar which showcases Italian gelati and imported pastries and torts from Italy and hot and steaming espressos and cappuccinos. They continued with antipasto case, that includes a cornucopia of marinated vegetables and meat and cheeses. As you continue your way through the restaurant you are enlightened by the warm glow of the authentic wood-fired brick oven, they were the first in the Philadelphia area to reproduce the authentic Italian cooking method for their variety of thin and crispy pizzas. As the warm glow of the authentic wood-fired brick oven entertains your visual senses the wafting aromas from the open kitchen captivates the nose. The journey does not end their as you exit through the side door the restaurant expands into a wonderful patio and alfresco eatery. This enchanting summer and winter oasis consists of a patio bar, large gazebo, bocce courts and  enough dinning area to host parties up to 200 hundred all covered by a pergola of grape vines. Do not fret the patio is designed to enjoyed all year long.

The menu at Café Michelangelo is a diversity of northern and southern Italian cuisine, consisting of pasta, pizza, veal, chicken, and seafood. Beside the menu items available to our guests the chefs are always creating tasty and inventive dishes for the daily specials.
